Group #2

Title: Not A Fan

Day & Time: Sunday – 6:00 pm

Group Type: Young Adults (20+)

Host/Leaders: Dallas & Candy Smith

Location: 588 Mathews Store Road, Byron

“Not A Fan” Description: Are you a follower of Jesus? Don’t answer too quickly. Consider it a ‘Define the Relationship’ conversation to determine exactly where you stand. You may indeed be a passionate, fully devoted follower of Jesus. Or, you may be just a fan who admires Jesus but isn’t ready to let him cramp your style. Then again, maybe you’re not into Jesus, period. In any case, don’t take the question—Are you a follower of Jesus?—lightly. Jesus is ready to clearly define the relationship he wants with his followers. Not a Fan calls you to consider the demands and rewards of being a true disciple. With frankness sprinkled with humor, Pastor Kyle Idleman invites you to live the way Jesus lived, love the way he loved, pray the way he prayed, and never give up living for the One who gave his all for you

Group #3

Title: Wild At Heart *

Day & Time: Monday – 6:30 pm

Group Type: Men

Leaders: Greg Whitaker/Craig Brush

Location: Whitaker Cabin

11431 Hwy. 96 East

Fort Valley

“Wild At Heart” Description: God designed men to be dangerous, says John Eldredge. Simply look at the dreams and desires written in the heart of every boy: To be a hero, to be a warrior, to live a life of adventure and risk. Sadly, most men abandon those dreams and desires-aided by a Christianity that feels like nothing more than pressure to be a “nice guy.” It is no wonder that many men avoid church, and those who go are often passive and bored to death. In this provocative study, Eldredge gives men permission to be what God designed them to be-dangerous, passionate, alive, and free

*Wild At Heart is the Men’s counter part of the Captivating study listed below.

Group # 5

Title: The Story*

Day & Time: Wednesday – 10:00 a.m.

Group Type: Women

Host Home: Carline Eubanks

Leader: Linda Connell

Location: 75 Hedge Row Drive, Byron

* This groups weekly discussions will center on Pastor Terry’s Sunday sermons.

“The Story” Description: “THE GREATEST STORY EVER TOLD” IS MORE THAN JUST A CLICHÉ. God goes to great lengths to rescue lost and hurting people. That is what The Story is all about—the story of the Bible, God’s great love affair with humanity.
Condensed into 31 accessible chapters, The Story sweeps you into the unfolding progression of Bible characters and events from Genesis to Revelation. Using the clear, accessible text of the NIV Bible, it allows the stories, poems, and teachings of the Bible to read like a novel.

And like any good story, The Story is filled with intrigue, drama, conflict, romance, and redemption—and this story’s true! From the foreword by Max Lucado and Randy Frazee: “This book tells the grandest, most compelling story of all time: the story of a true God who loves his children, who established for them a way of salvation and provided a route to eternity. Each story in these 31 chapters reveals the God of grace—the God who speaks; the God who acts; the God who listens; the God whose love for his people culminated in his sacrifice of Jesus, his only Son, to atone for the sins of humanity.

How would your understanding of the gospel have been shaped by the customs, beliefs, and traditions of the Jewish culture in which you lived? We will explore the parables as they must have sounded to first-century Jews, powerful and surprising. You will join the conversations that were already going on among the rabbis of his day. You will watch with new understanding as the events of his life unfold. And you will emerge with new excitement about the roots of your own Christian faith. Sitting at the Feet of Rabbi Jesus will change the way you read Scripture and deepen your understanding of the life of Jesus.
